Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference?

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated waking night support workers to join the teams at our residential and supported living services in Sutton, Surrey. These services  provide support for adults with learning disabilities, associated health needs and a range of abilities and interests.

Main responsibilities

The people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice.  Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.

Could this be you?

Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and many of our service users require support during the night.

Please note our waking night support workers are required to be awake and vigilant throughout their night shift, even breaks.  You will be required to check on residents as required by their care plans, and provide any support needed.  Sleeping on duty is not permitted at any time, even during breaks.

You will be expected to ensure people are supported to gain a good night’s sleep, monitoring any concerns in relation to disturbed sleep patterns and follow relevant support plans designed to promote sleep and wellbeing.

You will focus on ensuring the environment at night is safe and contributes to ensuring people are comfortable at night.

Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.

Once you click "Apply", you will be directed to our website and asked to create an account.  This will only take a few seconds and just requires you to give us your name and an email address, and will allow us to contact you regarding the vacancy.  We won't share your details with any agencies or other companies.

Ideal candidate

We believe that a successful Waking Night Support Worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.

An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.

Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.

About the company

We are a leading provider of care and support for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs, challenging behaviour, profound and multiple learning disabilities and epilepsy.

The people we support live in homely, family-like residences, and are encouraged to participate fully in the local community.

Our values ensure that all support provided is the shared responsibility of CMG staff, the individuals, their families and other key people in their lives.  Everyone should be given the choice needed to enable them to achieve their potential.  All CMG staff will ensure that everyone is treated as an individual, with dignity and respect.  We have an open culture, where everyone feels valued and appreciated.

CMG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the people we support, adults and children, and expect all staff to share this commitment.

Why work for CMG?

We have an experienced and award-winning training team who will continue to support you long after your initial induction and training is complete.  Ongoing development opportunities are available if you wish to progress your career within Care Management Group.
