Description Are you positive and creative? Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them live life on their own terms?

We are recruiting across several services in Shrewsbury - you are sure to find a service that suits you!

About the role

You will play a key part in assisting the people we support, ranging in ages from people in their 40's and above, with varying needs, to live full independent meaningful lives. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Could you support someone to sing their greatest hits at karaoke, cook up a storm in the kitchen or screaming 'BINGO' at the local bingo night? The people we support enjoy all these activities and many more - let us know what interests you!

Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication.

The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

What we need from you

Experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive, hardworking approach and are willing to learn.
