Description A prestigious Electronic Manufacturing company in Great Yarmouth are seeking a Production Engineer ( SMT)

Provide process engineering and equipment expertise to ensure successful Manufacturing support and change management relating to new process introduction and current process optimisation.

Main job duties include:

Provide Process Engineering support for current and new products in Manufacturing

Be the Engineering Lead for specific processes and projects
Assist in Process Engineering support to IR&D

Generate and maintain associated manufacturing documents to support the above

Liaise with external suppliers for capital improvement projects

Ensure good housekeeping at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Comply with the latest EHS policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Develop and drive improvements to increase productivity and implement best practices

Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed in order to maintain and/or improve the
efficiency, quality and service of the Engineering Team

Continuous Improvement – you will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business; expectations are around four a year. This responsibility forms part all employees’ job description.

Working hours are:

08:00- 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00- 13:30PM on Friday.

Salary to be discussed at interview.
Qualifications It is expected that applicants will be qualified to level 5, or better, of the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications. However, applicants will be considered in light of their technical knowledge, experience and demonstrable skills where formal qualifications at level 5 or above are incomplete or absent: • HND or Bachelor/Masters Degree in an Engineering discipline • Proven experience in SMT and PCBA • Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly • Experience in the Aerospace or similar industries
Preferred Skills Any or all the following are desirable, but not essential: • Competency in: o SMT and PCBA o Manufacturing process development and optimisation o Design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures o Programmable logic controllers o Technical report writing o Equipment maintenance o Operator training • Familiarity with: o Thick film hybrid technology o Electronic test methodologies o Clean room environments o Industry quality standards o High reliability microelectronics design and development o Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook) o ERP / MRP systems A good candidate for this position will have: • Excellent diagnostic and complex problem solving capability • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work • A creative approach to generating new ideas • High initiative – requires minimal prompting, keen to learn • Good project management skills • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all levels • A professional, polite and efficient manner • Ability to work as member of a multi-disciplinary team • Ability to cope with new and changing demands • Ability to deal with ambiguity
