About the Role

We're looking for a Learning Support Worker/Catering Assistant to join the team, 38 hours per week. Supporting and working together with a group of people with learning disabilities; You will coach and provide life-skills training for the people we support.

Core hours are 8.30 am to 4.30 pm weekdays and 1 Saturday in every 4, but depending on the needs of the service you must be willing to work flexibly outside these hours if required.

Some personal care may be involved and occasionally you will have behaviours of concern to deal with but we provide full training and support in these areas.

What we are looking for

Although a background in commercial food preparation would be helpful, it is not essential. If you're keen to learn, we'll give you all the training you need to succeed. However, a passion for food, a bit of creative flair, some good old-fashioned home baking skills would be a distinct advantage. Above all, we are looking for warmth, empathy and good communication skills.

Some computer skills are also desirable to help log the learning with the people we support.

It is essential for this position that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be using our bakery van to deliver food around the area. To comply with our insurance you must be over the age of 21 and have held your licence for over 2 years.

This position is subject to a 6 month probation period following the completion of recruitment checks.
