Description Our client is a leading global logistics supplier with a presence across the world. We have newly created role to join this busy, fast paced IT department.

The role sees the appointed candidate working across a broad range of technologies and liaising across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests.

You will be repsonsible for answering IT requests via telephone, email, live chat and instant message and explaining solutions in technical and non technical terms.

Day to Day your role will involve

-Provide remote and onsite 1st line technical support for hardware and software issues across a wide variety of technology.
- Ensure all problem tickets are logged on to the helpdesk system with regular progress notes.
- Keep the customer regularly updated with issues resolution progress.
-Work in collaboration with colleagues on major incident recovery.
- Proactively identify potential problems and issues on customer sites.
-Identify opportunities to implement improved solutions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and demonstrate the ability and desire to go 'above and beyond' for our customers.
-Share technical knowledge and regularly update the Knowledge base.
- Build and install PC's, telephone systems, and peripheral devices ( printers, HHT, Mobile / smart phone) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain installed PC's, telephone systems and pheripherals with routine maintenance.

We welcome applications from candidates that demonstrate the following:

- Basic networking knowledge
- PC Diagnostic skills
- Windows Server and desktop operating systems including WIN10/7 and server 2008/2012
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Understanding of Virtual Server Technology
- Desktop Deployment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Microsoft MTA or CompTIA A+desirable.

This role sits within a small friendly team, we are looking for a candidate that has the ability to interact and communicate with a varied audience and have the ability to work well as part of a team, with the ability to use own initiative.

This is a full time permanent role. Hours are Monday to Thursday 07:55 - 16:35 and 14:55 Fri. Please note it is essential that candidates applying for this role have a FULL UK driving licence, the position will include travel across the sites, and some national travel when required. It does also involve some out of hours work, on an as when required basis, therefore we are expecting candidates that have applied to offer a level of flexibility.
