Purpose of Role

This role is effectively a multi-site Finance Manager/Director role and would suit a recently qualified accountant looking to take that next step in their career. You will be a real self-starter, able to work in the detail as well as to see the bigger picture. You will provide commercial business partnering to support 4 events-based Venue Management teams in understanding their financial performance, assist in driving performance and monitor and control change initiatives. 

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with at least 2/3 years commercial experience
  • High numeric and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proven financial and commercial acumen
  • Strong, dynamic team player
  • Previous commercial finance experience of improving business results and adding value
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and also travel for event support as required
  • Flexibility to travel a few days per week

Key Accountabilities

  • Business Performance
  • Overseeing production of accurate P&Ls pre and post events including profiling, attendance and SPH assumptions
  • Overseeing accurate & timely Weekly, Monthly and Rolling Forecasts and annual budgeting/forecasting process
  • All variances understood and challenged and appropriate actions put in place for venues to improve
  • Ensuring appropriate business performance tools are understood and utilised by venue teams
  • Review of trends and benchmarking across venues and challenged accordingly
  • Commercial Support
  • Working closely with BDs to ensure full awareness of all financial drivers to enable robust decision-making
  • Driving commercial initiatives to maximise Revenue and optimise cost control
  • Undertaking analysis to understand the impact of initiatives employed
  • Engage key initiatives and strategies to optimise margin delivery
  • Analysis of business segmentation and profitability
  • People Relationship Management
  • Direct partnering with LA, BD and GMs in business to ensure optimal financial performance
  • Development of Location Accountants to increase financial awareness and adherence to control procedures
  • Work closely with regional FBPs colleagues to streamline processes and plan new strategies for overall business
  • Quarterly Business Reviews with Client

This role has responsibility for 3 sites and will require regular travel (2 Days in Cardiff, 1 Day in Swansea, 2 Days in Reading). A Car is included in the package.
