Galaxy Personnel are currently recruiting for an accounts senior/junior manager to join our client's branch based in St Ives. My client is a well-established medium-sized accountancy practice. This practice of chartered accountants primarily help individuals in East Anglia start and run their own SME business.

My client is recruiting for a qualified Accounts Senior/Junior Manager to be responsible for undertaking high quality accounts preparation and tax compliance services for a range of business clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Key Activities:

Audit and Accounting
• Fully accountable for the provision of accounting services including corporate and personal tax returns and special services for a portfolio of clients.
• Provision of projections and forecasting information.
• Produce VAT returns and provide an in depth knowledge and advice service to clients.
• Utilise a variety of paperless software applications.
• Sage Line 50 client help and visits.
• Undertaking audit and non-audit assignments as the in charge.
• Take responsibility for the planning, performance and preparation of draft accounts and tax computations for manager review.
• Raise bills

Client Accounts
• Processing client records to draft accounts stage.
• Completing file sections and cross referencing schedules.
• Completing work programmes and administration paperwork.
• Attending client’s premises and assisting on external audit when required.
• Contacting clients for information.
• Accounts completion.
• DCA’s.

Audit
• File set ups
• Audit work.
• File completion.

VAT
• Complete VAT return form when checked.
• Communicate with client when VAT return is complete and submit to HMRC.

Tax Compliance
• Preparation of corporation tax returns and submission to HMRC.
• The preparation of self-assessment tax returns, business and partnership tax returns to include detailed capital gains computations and preparation of schedules of income from property.
• Processing information on a computerized tax software to produce returns and calculations above.

Company Secretarial
• Annual Returns - preparation and submission.
• Other Companies House forms - preparation and submission.
• In charges of company secretarial work and statutory books.

Client Management and Business Development
• Responsible for a portfolio of clients, including statutory audits, reporting directly to Partners.
• Manage and develop client relationships, including regular client contact by telephone, meetings and electronically.
• Identify opportunities for additional services.
• Awareness of business development including representing the Firm at networking events.
• Play an active role in raising the profile of the business.
• Display a confident, accurate and reliable accounting knowledge when interacting with clients, presenting ideas and implementing strategies.
• Actively engage with senior staff / partners to gain a good understanding of the business.
• Liaise directly with business owners and accounts staff.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Staff
• Mentor, supervise and coach junior staff assigned and contribute to non-client work.
• Delegate tasks effectively.
• Limited supervision of junior staff.
• Review work of junior staff, ensuring quality in compliance with professional standards / requirements.

General
• Undertaking general administration tasks.
• Effectively communicating with colleagues at appropriate levels within the organisation.
• The ability to assist more junior members of the organisation in their development.
• Other reasonable work activities as determined by the Partners and Managers.
• Liaise with and support work colleagues as required.
• Participate in internal / external meetings as required.
• Identify and meet personal job-related training and development as required.
• Provide assistance in terms of general and specific support to Partners and superiors.
• Undertake appropriate training to ensure CPD criteria are met.
